Comments & Reviews
My first Harlequin American Romance (and my first Christmas story) was Gifts of the Spirit by Anne McAllister. When the story opens, our reporter hero is in jail for trying to solicit a prostitute for a story he’s working on but what he doesn’t realize is the decoy prostitute is the same woman who left him at the altar five years previously. The story was warm and funny and emotional. It had depth and charm and a timeless quality to it. What I enjoyed about it was the tender romance, community, and it was a longer book so there was more meat to the plot.
